What UN related research is done in Estonia? What organizations are doing research on the UN in Estonia, and where can I find their results? How can research inform policy-making? Which areas are in need of additional research? |
As part of our mission, we support research being conducted at Estonian research institutions on the UN and related topics. In doing so, we aim to make expertise about the UN available in Estonia and, with this expertise being available, to encourage research-based policy. For this purpose, we seek to encourage research on the UN and related topics, including Estonia’s role in the UN, as they are of relevance for Estonian society. Internationally, we also seek to increase visibility about research on the UN, or UN-related topics, done in Estonia.
Through our activities in this area, we encourage, promote and support research on the UN, UN-related topics that are of special relevance to Estonia, and research on Estonia’s role, activities, and initiatives inside the UN. One way to support research on the UN and related topics in Estonia is to strengthen academic exchange and networks related to the topics. In addition we are looking for ways to bring guest speakers from abroad to broaden the intellectual debate on UN related topics. To encourage the next generation of researchers, we advertise and support dissertations on relevant topics at both undergraduate and graduate level.
Connecting our research activities to our awareness-raising and education activities, we also support communication of relevant research. We promote evidence-based policy by facilitating dialogue between policy-makers, stake-holders, and academia and by supporting communication of relevant research findings. As part of these activities, we support and promote original research on relevant topics.
